I recently had the opportunity to photograph this sweet family of five. We spent the morning at the park, just letting the kids do their thing, while I clicked away. I love capturing kids in their element. Happy belated Mother’s Day to mama Josie!

inspired by angie…and something new!
I have a new project in the works with the talented and lovely Angie. We’ll be interpreting a new subject each week, each in our own way. I love her clean style and can’t wait to see our work side-by-side. Check back Friday for our first post. And find Angie on g+ where she’s been posting her more recent work.

shannonblue photography is 3!
Three years ago I opened shop on Etsy with less than a page full of photos (and a different name!). I had no idea what I was in for. I’m so grateful for all the love and support I’ve received over the last three years as my photography has matured and I’ve branched out into new ventures. Thanks so much for sharing this journey with me!
As a thank you I’m offering 20% off everything in my shop. Just use the code THREE when checking out. Offer good through Sunday, February 12.
Find me on Etsy here: http://shannonpix.etsy.com/

fascinated
I’ve been hitting garage sales whenever I see them, hoping to score a great vintage camera. I haven’t had any luck finding cameras, but I did find this mint-condition 1960s typewriter earlier this summer.
I brought it outside for a few photos this week, and my kids were instantly drawn to this “strange typer device”. Fascinated. My how the world has changed…

do you instagram?
I love instagram.
If you haven’t discovered it yet, it’s an app for your iPhone to take and share images. So quick and easy, plus it includes a bunch of filters for different effects.
I love following others on instagram because it gives a glimpse into their everyday lives, plus it’s fun to see the creative images that can be made with an iPhone. It also allows me to share without the fuss of taking a bunch of images, choosing the best one, editing, uploading… I can’t overthink it. Instant gratification. Find me as shannonblue. Hope to see you there!

long time, no see!
I’m actually embarrassed by how long it’s been since I’ve posted. Let this be the first of many more posts this spring. Truth be told, I’ve been enjoying more time with my family, spending some time working on more portrait photography, plus a few other exciting things that are in the works. Now that spring is here and the flowers are blooming, I hope to be getting more time outdoors, and of course I’ll bring my camera along.
My daughter turned four recently, and I took her out for a mini photo-shoot with a big bunch of yellow balloons.
The weather doesn’t always cooperate here in Colorado. When we get warm days in early spring they usually come with wind. This day was no exception. I was happy to get a few fun shots of my mini-me between gusts. And I took this on the way back to hour car: golden hour = super long legs. 🙂
I hope you’ve had a wonderful start to the year and I hope to be around more going forward!
