I&#8217;m fortunate to not be directly impacted by any of the fires currently burning here in the Centennial state, beyond a lot of smoke in the air. I took this picture Wednesday afternoon from one of my favorite local vantage points. You can see some of the flames leaping from the trees and the helicopters loaded with flame retardant to combat them.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-809\" title=\"20120627_135127_edited-2\" src=\"https:\/\/shannonblue.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/20120627_135127_edited-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shannonblue.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/20120627_135127_edited-2.jpg 550w, https:\/\/shannonblue.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/20120627_135127_edited-2-300x247.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><br \/>\nWe&#8217;re lucky &#8211; this fire is relatively tiny and the firefighters seem to have the upper hand. \u00a0The same cannot be said of our friends to north of us near Fort Collins and south of us near Colorado Springs. \u00a0My heart goes out to everyone affected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maybe you&#8217;ve heard: Colorado is on fire.
